I have received a parking fine!

MiPermit is a payment system for digital permits and cashless parking, while we supply services to parking authorities we do not patrol, enforce or issue fines on their behalf.

If you have received a PCN (Parking/Penalty Charge Notice) while using our services and feel that the fine was issued in error, you should in the first instance gather evidence and submit this to the parking authority using the details on the PCN. This may be a link to their web site or an address to write to. Appeals must be made in writing at all times and submitted to the parking operator, not to MiPermit.

You should gather evidence that provides proof to the parking operator that you had paid for parking or had a valid permit to park at the time of the contravention, in which case screen shots of SMS messages, receipts or permit numbers would help you in your challenge. If you were issued a PCN for anything other than non-payment or not having a valid permit (such as parked out of bay) you should provide evidence of your own.

Parking operators who use MiPermit for payments and permits have the ability to check our systems to satisfy themselves that a reasonable attempt to pay for parking has been made to be able to respond to your challenge. If the parking operator cannot find such evidence they will contact MiPermit for further investigation.

MiPermit are not part of the decision making process on PCN's issued and if they should be cancelled or not, however we are happy to provide you with factual evidence should you require it.

Managing your Season Tickets

To manage your season tickets, login to the MiPermit global portal or the parking operators portal for your area and click on 'Manage Digital Permits'. Select the permit type you wish to manage. Here you can view, renew or edit your permit.

Season tickets can be edited by selecting the permit which will load the permit details for you to amend. Most season ticket providers allow you to change the vehicle which is covered by the season ticket. This is usually free of charge, and is effective immediate. Please note that if a vehicle is currently parked in a location under the season ticket and you change the registration, it will no longer be covered and the parking operator may issue a fine.

Note: Some parking operators require payment for amendments to active permits and therefore you will not be able to make these changes online.

Most season tickets only allow one vehicle to be associated with the permit. Do not attempt to add more than one vehicle registration number to a single vehicle permit as this may cause a fine to be issued by the parking operator.

Some parking operators allow multiple vehicles to be covered by the season ticket. If this is the case, you will see Vehicle 1, Vehicle 2 etc on the permit details. Only one of these vehicles can be parked at any one time.

Purchasing Season Tickets

Season Tickets allow you to park in locations by making a one off payment for up to one year at a time. This can often be cheaper than paying daily.

Depending on the parking operator and the location, it may be that some locations have a limited quantity of season tickets available. If this is the case, you should contact the parking operator to be added to a waiting list.

To purchase a season ticket, you can go to the MiPermit global portal or to the parking operators portal, click on 'Buy Digital Permits' and select the permit type required. You will be asked for information such as your vehicle registration number and contact details, plus payment card details to finish your purchase. Please ensure you read the terms and conditions of purchase and use to check the permit will be valid for your requirements.

You can also 'Manage' your permits, details on doing so are available in the 'Managing your Season Tickets' article.

Using Permits on Android and iOS
